About Laurieann:

         I’m not a purist. I love to mix media to see the various results I can obtain in my art. Media can be colored pencils, acrylic paint, oil pastels, scratchboard, and more recently wood carvings and glass/epoxy, three dimensional creations.
       Since color and detail are important to me, I usually lean towards a realistic style. My internal drive to create, is driven by my need to change, or recreate something I've had on my mind, for others to enjoy, thus seeing a bit of what’s in my mind, then has to come to “life”.
        My subject matter varies - but they are ideas, and images wanting to come out in some type of media. It could be the beauty of wind turbines, or vegetables from my garden, the ducks and geese I raise, human figures, wild birds, or scenes from my travels. I see a unique story in many things around me, that I can also share with others.

Callandra Smith is a Dallas artist whose mission to create calming and soothing works. Always a creative, her art career started after the death of her uncle when her cousin showed her the medium of mosaics.
